Long Pond distillery is situated in northern Jamaica, within Trelawny parish, and grew out of the consolidation of numerous estates in the late 19th century. Long Pond's illustrious history includes several different marques, including CRV which ceased to be distilled in 2009 when the column that distilled this marque was significantly damaged. This 19-year-old Long Pond (CRV) was distilled in 2004 and aged in an ex-rum cask at origin before being transported to Europe in 2018 to mature for nearly six years.
This was one of the first casks we selected, working with North Point distillery, in the search for our first rum release. We were surprised by the colour this developed in an ex-rum cask and, after a few years of patient observation, we knew it was the right time to bottle this stunning expression of Long Pond.
The label is designed by Toronto-based illustrator James Tuer, whose personal work draws inspiration from 80s sci-fi, vintage travel posters and 90s comic book art. He has also worked with some incredible brands to create outstanding pieces.
This single barrel rum is non-chill filtered with no additives, yielding 256 bottles at a cask strength of 66.1% ABV.
